Well, here's an admission. I never can say that I truly know exactly what will happen --- perhaps I should never say that again, ha right!
I put something up on eBay for the first time in a long time, and figured that it was a low demand item. I should also say I set up a BuyItNow price that was high but not ridiculous. So as I left for class tonight, I expected a long protracted LACK of bids over the bid period
Well, surprise surprise when I get back home, I have a note in my email saying someone bought it using BuyItNow. I'm supergrateful that someone wanted it at that price. I kinda figured that was the highest I could possibly get by bids, but by bids you never know. But there you have it, eBay brings some chaos to my understanding of how people value things --- it's pretty clear that on some days stuff you never think will go, goes fast ... on others, you're just doing the relisting mambo
eBay, how I long to understand thee ... ha --- good night, more later
whats interesting is as time goes by, more and more users are using ebay to find things. Stuff i know Hawaii people will not buy, ebayers will buy at top dollar.
For instance... my 1979 Yamaha SG 2000 bluebooks for about six bills or less in dead mint. Her in Hawaii you will be lucky if someone pays $500 for it. On ebay i sold it for $1000 plus shipping.
What does that tell me? Simply ebays audience is the world while a consignment shop locally will only give you a local audience. Granted its harder to ship something but in the long run well worth it.
I still gotta sell my Marshal 100 watt super lead and cab dammit.
