Well, the Creeper is back --- and I'm not going to write a big review about it. The first Jeepers Creepers was to me a very strong and modern take on the traditional monster movie --- not unlike those 30s and 40s creature features featuring the master Boris Karloff
This time the creature is stronger than ever in its presentation --- its just that the story and the acting are well, pretty limited. There's only so far you can take the stalled bus in the middle of nowhere idea (just ask Trey and Matt from South Park, in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if someone was sued for being substantially similar here), especially when the dialog is weaker and the acting talent is marginal
Is it entertaining? Sure, it was largely entertaining, but it vibes more as a rental than as a place to spend full movie price for.
Ironically, I would say the same thing about Freddy vs. Jason --- our fiend friends are fantastic, it's just the teens in the way of their confrontation that speedbumped my enjoyment --- so that's your horror roundup
From the Luau,
Jeepers Creepers 2: C
Freddy v. Jason: C+
If you don't like horror movies, you're gonna think these suck so save your money for the next Ashton Kutcher classic
