That your elected officials just don't get it
Ok, fact #1 -- this scientist guy did a traffic study for Honolulu, and found that our speed limits probably could easily go up to 70 MPH with no additional increases in fatal and severe crashes -- and it was not uncommon to see cars going 75 and 80 with no adverse effects to other drivers
Fact #2 -- there was a bill signed into law by the Gov that allows for you license to be taken away FOR UP TO 5 YEARS if you are caught going 90 MPH
Now tell me, what is wrong with this picture? Shouldn't there have to be something BAD happening to justify such draconian measures -- like a crash or death -- I don't think speeding kills, its the crashes -- get a clue time for our elected officials

well my problem is this... name me one person who does not speed? let he who does not speed cast the first stone.
cmon. politicians are just as bad as all of us. i dunno how many times i have seen someone in the senate racing down in their BMW or other luxury car down the H1.
just TRY driving the speedlimit. you will be killed instantly. either that or you will feel the wrath of Hawaii drivers killing you with their eyes. Don't get me wrong... i think Hawaii driving habits are some of the worst, but I am the minority here and we must conform to what everyone else does... keep the pace. thats all you need to do.
