This morning we woke up very early to go to the annual Humane Society Petwalk at Ala Moana
It's not for me to second guess, but next time they would do better than to have it on Father's Day -- and not at one of the most busy parks on FD
It's very interesting to see how many people bring their pets to this gathering -- such a wide variety of people and pets were on display
My turn-off of the day was the Governor attempting to use her welcoming address as a political speech -- that NO ONE was listening or paying attention to -- I don't understand the motives of politicians, I really don't
I managed to finally watch my UNDERWORLD dvd -- and it is in my opinion, a greater movie than Blade 2 -- I think it's because I enjoyed the blend between psychology and action
I felt B2 tried to make it more of a lights and special efx show -- that's all nice but you should hang it on a story -- I am not saying that the dialogue in UW was world shatteringly good but it moved the story along -- and when the direction and production got too cute, the dialog got too twisted around
Seems to be a problem with this genre -- overtalking and overtelling -- it's funny because when I was watching Good Bad and Ugly -- there was no dialogue (NONE!!!) at all for the first 15 minutes -- just psychology, and it was excellent -- sometimes LESS is MORE, if you have good psychology from nonverbal cues
In the final analysis, UW is like a B ... it's a great rent, and if you like the genre, it's a buy when on sale

In many ways, the extended cut told a better story than the theatre cut -- so many times the extended is just jacking off -- this one actually added to the story -- no complaints from me, although they just should have done a one shot rather than string out the Dvds -- give people the choice on release day if they want the ext or not
well i went to the petwalk last year but couldnt go this year. last year lingle did the same thing. Im not sure why they did it on fathers day though?
I was kinda pissed about the Underworld DVD because about 3 months after it came out they come out with a version with 23 more minutes of footage!!! argh!!!
