...not impressed
I forgot to write about this earlier this week, but I have heard all 3 new tracks that will be part of the VH best set -- and unlike a phat cabernet -- all I heard was a fat piece of shirt -- actually three fat pieces
That kind of settles it up for me, I will not be dropping ca-shish to buy it, heck I have all of it laying here somewhere -- dysfunctional and disappointing, it seems about time for some people to get real
for some reason i think/feel that Ed just simply cannot solo anymore. He is in someways a mockery of himself. The anti solo if you will.
He plays the same runs, the same licks over and over. Dweezil Zappa does a better Ed VH than Ed VH does.
i'm not trying to knock my hero. He will always be the reason I picked up a guitar and jumped off my bed. I just wish somehow he'd hear what hes doin...
agreed, 5150 and oh you ate one are desperately in need of a facelift -- it's kind of interesting b/c as time passes
I grow less fond of those albums -- I find that the three "NU" trax remind me of what I DIDN'T like about 1986-1990 Van Hagar
I did however love HUMANSBEING and the heavier sounds of Balance -- it was just get back to the fucking basics and rock -- that's what I like about older Sam and older VH, it's stupid how they can't get it back together with respect to that
and ed's solos ... BARF
maybe they should have gone St. Anger and cancelled the solos ... hahahaha
i downloaded all 3 from melodic rock. thank GOD because if i paid $25 + bucks for it, i'd have to kill all of VH members. What a rip off. Is it my imagination or does Sam sound like he can barely sing?
The whole sound was old. i dunno. i was expecting HumansBeing or maybe more Seventh Seal type of song but nope. just a bunch of crap. i refuse to pay for stuff i already have.
Remasters are a different story. i doubt there is anyone out there who wouldn't agree that 5150 and OU812 need to be remastered VERY BADLY. Those two albums were made in the age of CD's and i guess they forgot a step in the process between analog to digital.
