Early morning rain

My ears are still ringing from The Who show concluded a few hours ago -- once dubbed the loudest rock band ever by the Guiness Book of World Records -- this was a very loud show

I feel very fortunate to have seen many of the icons of rock and the icons of my lifetime live in concert -- tonight was no exception, another exceptional performance by the faces of the Who, Roger and Pete

For someone nearing 60, Pete has incredible energy in his performance, and can chop it up with the best -- some of the sounds he pulled from his guitar were just amazing -- It's hard to say that he has slowed down even a bit

Roger was Roger -- spinning the mic by the cord, posing and gesturing -- and hitting those notes, and having that Roger Daltrey rock god voice

I guess one never really adds 2 and 2 together in life -- but drummer Zac Starkey aka Ringo Starr's kid is one of the best kept secrets in rock and roll -- he has a ferocity and technicality that is comparable to the best of the live rock era -- yes, I am comparing him to Keith Moon and John Bonham -- he doesn't quite have Bonham's weighty sound, but the agility on the rolls and the thunder from the bass -- amazing young drummer

It may sound odd to the older Who fans, but I really dug the blues jammy version of Eminence Front -- I think that video was the first music I heard from the Who on MTV -- I had heard that the group had plucked that one of the hardly played live 1982 album and was playing it in Aus and JPN -- cool that they played it here

But all the hits were here from "I Can't Explain", "Won't Get Fooled Again", "My Generation", "Behind Blue Eyes", "Pinball Wizard", "Who Are You", "You Better You Bet", and quite a few more -- really fun 2 1/2 hour ROCK SHOW

It was great to finally see two more of the pantheon of rock gods

(Now if only I can see Sabbath live and Page and Plant ... I really better get on this, these guys aren't getting any younger)
