Odd Day

Early this morning I had to correspond with someone about an approval that I needed -- I got back a very esoteric answer, that verged on sassy

I sent back a clarifying message, and got back another odd answer -- and so it went, message tennis -- I really find message tennis to be one of the oddities of modern communications

It's almost as if we are too lazy or something to get all our concerns and questions down in one crack, whack, whatever -- ha

After a dinner, we went to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow -- I must say I loved the washed out visual noir style -- and the 1930s archetypal, Batmanesque gothic buildings, and Metropolis-like monsters and bots

The plot was very thin and campy -- the acting despite some high powered stars was well limited by the shallow dialogue -- the action scenes and CGI were very impressive

Great to look at ... nary a story to carry it ... it's not something I would recommend spending 8 bucks for, or even matinee money -- go see it at the Row if you absolutely have nothing to spend a buck on -- pretty and flawed, and also pretty flawed -- if I were to grade out, about a D+

Tough loss by Bombers to the Sox -- more tough because twice this season they've gotten to Mariano late in the game -- and we all know that don't happen too often

Bonds finally cranked 700 -- and it was surreal, I saw it live and it didn't really look like it was going out and then it did -- oh well, the march continues towards George Herman, the greatest Bomber ever

After a less than torrid week, Ichiro got two more today -- it's getting tougher for him to get after the record as the season is running out of games -- actually it hurts because the ump got the wrong call today and he should have picked up one more hit
