Tearing Down

I saw an unfortunate thing today -- I saw a fwd email that a member of the community had forwarded to the members of our State Legislature, well more particularly the House

It had congratulated a political candidate in support, and then attacked the candidate's opponent -- well not directly but because of what the candidate had written in their weblog

Admittedly, some of the content on the blog was not the height of maturity or discretion -- but it amazes me how people want to tear down others or cast aspersions on them

I for one know that I am not perfect -- I cannot comprehend having so much hatred for another that I would use their words against them so that my agenda could be put forward -- I figure that either your agenda is good or it is not -- it does no good to question another's character foibles because that does not equal (is a non sequitur) with your agenda being superior

Later today I noticed the xanga blog was taken down by its owner -- that's exactly what the attacker wanted -- to have a chilling and fear effect -- that's so unfortunate
