In baseball this year --
It's been a very interesting year of baseball this year -- lots of milestones have been assailed and maybe a few more will fall
I just noticed today that Randy Johnson is now #3 on the all-time strikeout list behind Rocket and the untouchable, unreachable Nolan Ryan
As you have noticed, we are cheering for Ichiro to break the single season hits record which has stood for 84 seasons -- I don't know what all this talk show pundit garbage is about Ichiro being only a singles hitter and not being the MVP on his team -- are these people retarded?!?!?!?! 84 years, that's almost as long as that team in Boston hasn't won a World Series
I think people are making perhaps a bit too large of a deal about Bonds getting to 700 to be only the third player to get there -- I think he'll go on to get the career home run record so in my opinion, 700 is just another milestone on the way to the big record
I don't understand Sox fans -- they will bitch about anything and think the sky is falling -- sheesh your team has played like hell on wheels the past month and a half -- closing the gap on the Bombers -- now it's like there's sentiment about throwing in the towel and just settling for the Wild Card -- sheesh guys, there's still 6 head to head matchups left between NYY and BOS -- talk about Henny Penny
The other thing that is goofy is listening to my fellow Pinstripes fans grouse about this year's team -- funny, the WS championship is not a birthright -- haven't won one in 3 seasons -- with this year's pitching, it may not happen again this year, but I'm not distancing myself from the team -- they still have the best record in the AL, despite all the pundits jumping on the lack of pitching, inconsistent clutch hitting, blah blah blah
Yankees - Red Sox ... this weekend, should be exciting
On a side note, no NHL -- many say for a long time -- my Rangers apparently win Cups every 40 years (so ... 10 down, 30 more to go -- maybe the lockout could last for 30 years, ha)
