Well, today was the second of the twice annual cleanings of the big entertainment wood console -- it's awesome how much dust collects here in a few months -- almost makes you wonder, hmmm, where does dust come from anyways? ok, so maybe not
Last night I went for the first time to the new theaters in Enchanted Lakes -- well, they may not be actually new new, but they are new to me -- it is a pretty nice facility, MUCH BETTER than W's Row facilities -- they are also nearer to SD's house, so I think we'll be going there again in the near future
When you see a movie for a $1 you can't complain, or at least, I couldn't last night -- we saw AvP -- and it was a competent Aliens and Predators movie -- sure, you can get picky about universe continuity issues -- particularly as it relates to say, gestation of aliens, or when Predators come to Earth (every ten years?) or or or ... nevermind -- nice nod to Weyland Yutani Corp and how androids look in the future
It was fairly entertaining enough -- it was not by any means the worst of the films of now seven films in both series -- it was also certainly not the best --
I was going to say something about the humans getting the hell out of the way -- but it was kind of a unique twist on the concepts of both films that humans are pretty irrelevant, and only used as breeders for a hunting ritual -- yes, they played the scared human card, and the bad ass ETs card, but ultimately it could have done more with AvP kickass fight scenes
I'm not complaining, it was entertaining enough ... a C/C+
