When politics is like evangelism

It's really funny nowadays -- it's like you can't talk to a "conservative" about Fahrenheit 9/11 or even convince them to take a look at it -- it actually reminds me a lot of trying to tell someone about Jesus

So what can you do when you have friends and family members that are for all intents and purposes -- totally bought and sold on the good war, the good economy, the good education, the good marriages, the good stem cell research, the good economy, the good tax cuts

I actually had someone tell me a story about how their parent said to them -- that if their aunt couldn't convert them, no one could -- this of course was an aunt that was totally traumatized that her son was about to embark on an 18 month tour in Iraq

That to me is the darkest commentary of them all -- someone who has so bought into the propaganda of fighting the good war, against evil, and providing freedom, that suddenly the realities of losing someone that they should love and empathizing with a family members' grief -- APPARENTLY NO LONGER MATTER -- that is the level of misplaced passion and displaced trust that has been created by this deceit

That scares me and makes me very sad -- I do not presume that everyone should believe as I do -- but it frankly disgusts me that the lies have made someone callous to those things that are most important in life -- love, relationships, and family

I don't even want to get into what it means that a self-professed Christian can be at the center of this massive campaign of deceit -- you know, when I think about what an anti-Christ could be -- well, I don't have to look very far at all

Need some wood?
