I was on Axis of Justice earlier today and I found a link to a story about moral values and their impact on the direction of our national politics
Everywhere from The Daily Show to Wonkette -- you hear essentially the same thing, with different flavors -- that middle America and their values took this election -- and that their values are not those held by metro peeps
And I guess it melts every progressive person's brain in their brain case to think about how the admittedly stereotypical middle American could vote against their interests
Well, I read this article -- and similar ones by Dr. James Dobson -- and it horrified me (link within)
The full text of the article can be found here:
The Freedoms Christians Might Lose In This Election
Essentially, it made several key points:
You will not be able to teach all that the Bible says in your church.
Christians cannot pray or hold Bible studies in certain places in America.
The Government and the Courts decide when children in the womb can be killedthe most dangerous place in America is your mothers womb!
You cannot display or teach the Ten Commandments in schoolsor any public building.
Homosexual unions, formerly a crime in America, will now be given the same legal status as marriage. Students will be taught that homosexuality is a natural and acceptable alternative lifestyle.
Your churchs tax-exempt status will be revoked if you teach and preach biblical Christianity.
By who you choose to be President, you are also picking the next three or four Supreme Court justices. (ed. note: As a lawyer, this one scares THE SHIT out of me)
The UPSHOT:
Christians need to stand up, to actively confront the culture with truth and to take our stand through voting
The horrifying thing about this all is that if you think about what the contra-positive of the upshot, it sounds weird and nonsensical -- and it's hard to believe that such a substantial number of voters (21%) believe it
The Progressives (or Democrats) shall stifle Christians and their values by their vote this election
Like I said, welcome to the Dark Ages in the USA
