Zaun also singles, an infield hit to second -- Hillenbrand grounds into an inning ending 463 DP

TOP 2: Matsui doubled to deep left -- ARod also booms a double to deep left center, one run scores, Yankees lead 1-0

Three two baggers in a row, Sierra doubles to deep left, another run scores, the lead is now 2-0

Posada grounds to short, one away, runner to third on the play -- Tino flied out to right, two down

Womack singles to left, another run will score, Yankees now lead 3-0

Jeter grounded out to second to end the rally

BOT 2: Koskie popped out to shallow left center -- Wells down swinging, two away -- Hinske flies to center for the third out

TOP 3: Bernie draws a leadoff walk -- On the Sheffield strikeout looking, Williams stole second -- Matsui grounds out to first, runner to third on the play, two down -- ARod flies out out right center to retire the side

BOT 3: Rios tripled to deep right -- Hudson sac fly to center, one run scores, the Yankees now lead 3-1

One down, Adams singles to center

So we begin today's Yankees fan journal with seeing a truly bizarre play -- Catalanotto struck out, and Posada attempting to throw the ball to second, beaned the ball of his helmet and into right field

Catalanotto was called for interference and the runner was sent back to first -- Zaun also goes down on strikes to retire the side

We begin in the fourth inning, Yanks up 3-1

TOP 4: To lead off the Yank half, Sierra laces what the broadcaster called his 2nd double of the day (and 5th overall) -- Posada knocks a double nearly to the identical place where Sierra's hit was, Sierra scores, Yanks 4-1

Still none out, Tino walks, runners now 1st and 2nd -- Womack sac bunts, runners move up -- Lilly gets the hook

Walker now pitching for the blue birds -- Jeter hits a seeing eye single, Pos scores, Tino is held up -- Yanks now, 5-1

Runners on the corners, one out -- Bernie singles to left, Tino scores, Jeter to third, Yanks, 6-1 -- still runners at the corners, one down

Walker Ks Sheff, two down -- Gajira draws a walk after falling behind in the count, 0-2 -- Bases loaded for ARod -- full count -- inside, Ball 4 -- one run scores, Yanks 7-1 -- bases still loaded, now for Giambi -- Giambi hits a teaser to the warning track in center to end in the inning

BOT 4: Well, missed that LOL

TOP 5: Posada singled to left -- Tino caught looking SO -- Womack flied out to right -- Jeter walked, runners at 1st and 2nd -- Bernie also walks, bases loaded for Sheff -- Sheff grounds out to retire the side

BOT 5: Hinske lines out to center -- Rios grounds out to short -- Hudson with a two out double to left -- Adams grounds out to second to end the inning

TOP 6: Whiteside in for the Jays -- Gajira grounds out to first -- one out walk to ARod -- Whiteside loses Giambi BB -- one down, runners at first and second

Posada drives one deep to right, a 3-run homer, Yanks now, 10-1 (his 1st HR of the year) -- Tino grounds to second for the second out

Womack is HBP -- Jeter grounds out for the third out

BOT 6: Womack makes a great stab on a grounder, but a low throw allows Catalanotto to get on first -- Myers singles, runners at the corners -- Hillenbrand grounds into a brilliant DP, what a 360 by Jeter! -- one run scores, Yanks 10-2
Koskie pops up to second to end the inning

TOP 7: Bernie singles when Menechino can't make the play on a grounder -- Bernie looks to be hurt -- Bernie comes out of the game, Bubba in as PR -- Sheff doubles, runners at second and third -- Matsui grounds out, one run scores -- Yanks, 11-2

ARod frozen pizza on a breaking ball, two down -- Two down, runner on third, Giambi having a quality AB, but strikes out swinging for out number three

Seventh inning stretch ... Yanks 11-2

BOT 7: Wells smokes one but right at ARod, one out -- Hinske flies to left -- Rios flies to right to end the inning

TOP 8: Posada grounds out to short -- Tino grounded out to first -- Womack SO to retire the side

BOT 8: Pavano starts the inning, PC 84 -- Menechino flies out to left on the first pitch -- Adams flies out to right for out number two -- Catalanotto singles to right with two down -- Myers lined out to center to end the inning

TOP 9: Speier in for Jays to face Jeter -- full count, Jeter singles up the middle -- Crosby down on strikes -- Sheff singles to center, runners at first and second, one out

Matsui just missed going yard, two outs -- ARod grounds into a force at second for the third out

BOT 9: Karsay takes over for Pavano -- Hillenbrand pops to right -- Koskie whiffs -- Johnson grounds out to short to end the game

Again, have to wonder whether all the mojo left the bats with today's offensive performance
