Well, apparently everyone and their country uncle is watching MLBtv's net coverage of Bombers-Sawx this morning -- because the Sawx are getting their rings and raising the flag this morning
As a result, the video and audio is damn choppy this morning -- I also am recording the game at home, TG for ESPN day games LOL
Yankees at Red Sox (7/162)
9:35 HST -- Lights going off and on in my office, as construction for Rapunzel's office continues
1st: Yanks go down pretty quietly -- for some reason, they have always had trouble with Wakefield -- Sawx got a lead off single from Damon, couldn't get him home although he did steal second
2nd: Yanks sleepwalking so far, 7 up, 3 SOs, one baserunner -- GD, after getting two down, Muss hits a batter then serves up one to the weak hitting Mirabelli, Sawx 2-0
3rd: Wakefield, no hitter through the Yankee lineup (plus one) -- One out, Nixon bloop, Manny and Ortiz (aka Ohshitz) back2back BB, loaded up for Millar -- he singles, two runs score, Sawx 4-0 -- linedrive right at Jeter, doubles off Ortiz, that was key, but the Bombers better get the bats going
4th: Oh great, the intelligent Commish Selig is now in the booth with the Sawx announcers on NESN -- talking about roids and testing, psssh -- ARod singled, stole second -- Sheff singles deep to short, ARod trying to take home, looks dead to rights, throwing error by Renteria to the plate, ARod scores, Sheff to second, Sawx 4-1 -- 2 down, runners on first and third, Giambi pops up to end the Yankee half of the 4th
Muss settling in, two down -- close pitch on 1-2, I think Muss and Pos thought it was strike 3 -- Bellhorn singles down the first baseline on the next pitch, how do you like that one -- damn, Damon gets on after his grounder gets under ARod's glove (lemme see, error 2, both against Sawx -- the first one costing 42 a save)
DAMN!! Nixon just put on off Sheff's glove in right -- SAHx 6-1
Manny singles, RS 7-1 -- Muss isn't a mystery today, and ARod's fielding is costly -- this one has really gotten away from the Yanks today
Bring back the Commish to the booth, tired with the NESN announcers ramble about their rings -- yeah good job calling the games last year boys LOL, lem, super LEMM
5th: Bernie grounded out to the start the inning -- Womack doubled -- Jeter just had an ugly at-bat against Wakefield, 2 SOs on the day -- Womack to third on WP to ARod -- ARod grounds to short to end the inning
No problem handling the Sawx this inning, inning ends with a DP, RS still 7-1
6th: Sheff singled to lead off the inning -- Matsui flies out, Tino pops out, then Pos grounds out to end the inning -- Yanks really going down quietly today
FelixRod relieves Muss, who really didn't have a good outing today, as opposed to how he deserved a win against the Sox last week -- Sox down in order
The game is really losing its energy -- between being a celebration day -- and Wakefield being utterly and completely in control
7th: James Taylor --- yes, that Sweet Baby James now in the booth -- talking about his love for the SAHx -- Bernie singled with one down -- Yanks go down again without scoring, still 7-1
FRod gives up a leadoff walk to Trot, otherwise Sox go quietly -- today's game starting to FEEL long
8th: Mantei in for Wakefield -- maybe the rally can start now LOL -- or NOT
ARod and Sheff down by SO -- two down, Mats singles -- but Tino pops out to end the inning
Stanton now pitching for the interlocking -- Renteria leads off with a two bagger -- Mueller doubles him home -- RS 8-1 -- no further damage
9th: Foulke in, in a non-save spot -- a flyout, a strikeout, and a popout -- Dirty Water, 8-1
