Daily Scan: Odd Stuff

Well, I'm not really going to write about anything today, nothing BIG in the scheme of things is striking my interest

So I wrote about some little tidbits ... so of course, we all read about the new security flaw in the really really supersafe, like we guarantee it, Firefox, here's a bit more of what I saw on my daily scan

I was thinking of doing a tidbit on how this small Brazilian town named today Orgasm Day, but what more could I add to that? ... yes, not much

DayTony Danza 500

I was surprised to hear about an odd stunt that Tony Danza had done for his talk show -- Apparently he invited some NASCAR guys and celebs to participate in a go kart race, and Rusty Wallace gave him some bump and run towards the end, to very shocking results

Smell some sweat, get $20

You know, I was thinking of those donate plasma ads that appear in the Classifieds from time to time -- Well, I read about a study where they were
convinced that their results indicated that gay men respond to pheromones
much like women do, and that one of the interesting findings was that the sweat sample for gay men, all sexes and gender permutations liked ... yeah, insert your own joke about fragrance du jour. It's here, and the upshot as it has been lately is that there is a natural chemical aspect to homosexuality

It ain't the lack of alcohol that's causing the erratic play and behavior

In an interesting bit, Michael Anthony put EVH on blast about drinking again during the tour and otherwise acting erratic. Well, it's here, if you want to read it, I think that VH will join Metallica on my boycott list soon due to both their ubiquitous news about nothing, not creating anything worthwhile in a long while, and just being utterly incomprehensible

Other stuff that was interesting to me, yet unlinked for treasure hunt reasons --
As a scorecard for bands that I have traditionally liked, just so I can keep track, really LOL

No LIVE AID 2, 20, or whatever

Bob Geldof ended speculation that there was a planned huge concert being planned by the Live Aid Trust, ala the 85 piece de resistance two city, satellite covered shows. News be here

From Blabbermouth

Leading off, there is a release date for the Stryper kinda reunion disc, Reborn, and it's August 16th on Big3. The title track was actually planned by Mike to be a song released by him solo

Ozzy has Parkin Syndrome, note yes, this is not Parkinson's Syndrome. He is believed to have genetically inherited the disease that manifests with involuntary shuddering

Other moderately interesting tidbits:
- The new Sabbath album which has been ON/OFF, sounds more like OFF as there is dismissing talk that says they won't do it just for the money
- Megadeth, more like Dave, won't tour Greece because the tour producers wanted a black metal "Satanic" group to open the shows
- Deep Purple in the studio recording a new one
- Warrant is back together, doing shows, and recording as well
- Cinderella playing acoustic shows, and will do an acoustic show on VH1
- Iron Maiden is rumored to be releasing a new CD/DVD this summer
- Tim "Ripper" Owens is planning a solo project that sounds like classic metal
- One of our faves on 80s death metal, Celtic Frost has supposedly recorded a new demo
- Steve Adler again putting it out there that the original lineup of GNR should reunite, record, and tour
- On that note, Robert Plant still pissing on the idea of a Led Zep reunion
- Possible quick turnaround on another new NIN album, as Trent says he has plenty of ideas in the can, that he is working on right now
