I haven't bought the new NIN, have listened to it, though ... I may not review it here anytime soon, basically because I don't see myself buying it
Saw this linked on Stereogum, some other person's economical review with visual aids ... see those people that taught you that visual aids were important were on to something. See it here
Oh yeah, and it is the number one selling disc in USA this past week, just FYI
Other tidbits
It's because I want to know what's going on with MJ's case and Paula Abdul's scandal
Been following this story for a few days all along the blogosphere and on BBC news, if you haven't heard it (of course, you can't hear it on the mainstream news, for some reason that I will not speculate about they whys and what fors) ... the story is that there is a damning memo that pretty much amounts to the administration of El Busho literally planning and orchestrating the deception behind the US invasion and subsequent war with Iraq
Wake me up when other Americans give a shit about anything besides themselves and their larger than life stupid vehicles and other personal accoutrements
In other news, or as I suspected ...
Terror alert colors don't mean shit ... or how the Office of Homeland Security manipulated terror levels to higher status even when there was only FLIMSY evidence to support the higher alert level. Gee, Tom what happened to your conscience when you were leading the office? Read here and become slightly more jaded LOL
One step closer to iT monthly subscriptions
Read an article that Yahoo! has started it's own monthly subscription service, at a year commitment for $4.99 a month or single month sub for $6.99. Their library is about a million songs.
After the whole Napster attempt to grab iT market share with monthly subs, you have to think that very soon Apple will go in and squash everyone before they start losing market share to the massive traffic sucking Yahoo! ... we shall see
Music tidbits from the usual sources, Alternative Addiction, Blabbermouth, Melodic Rock, etc.:
- Jason Mraz will be releasing Mr. A-Z on July 26th, and tour with Alanis Morissette this summer ... the new single, yes, there is one, Wordplay will hit the air and hopefully the iT (wish wish wish) next week on May 16th. And the new look Mraz website is interesting to look at, ... so look at it LOL And of course, they are running a clip per week feature to preview the album, that's cool
- IOMMI's new album due out on July 12th, and Sabbs bandmate Geezer has proclaimed that it is the best album he has heard in years ... on a side note, though it is really hard to find now, Tony Iommi's first solo album from a few years back is really worth a listen if you like heavy music
- Maiden confirmed that they will release a new album on August 29th called Death on the Road
- AC/DC scheduled to start recording a new album soon with a release date for later this year/early next year. Their DVD and book combo has been moved back from supposedly this past Tuesday to sometime in August
- Bon Jovi's new album release date now June 14th
- And the they still do that note of the day is that Lollapalooza will now be a one-location two day fest in Chicago this July
