TOP 1: May pitching for NY -- Sizemore goes down swinging, one down -- full count to Crisp, the payoff ... he flies to right, two away -- full count to Hafner, the payoff ... he goes down swinging to retire the side

BOT 1: Elarton pitching for CLE -- Jeter grounds the first pitch to third, one down -- Cano goes down swinging, two away -- Sheffield absolutely crushes one to left ... GONE, a two out solo shot -- Yankees lead 1-0

ARod hits an opposite field rope ... that finds the seats, GONE ... back to back solo shots, the score is now NY 2-0

Matsui flies to left to end the rally

TOP 2: Full count to Blake, the payoff ... he hits a well placed slow roller by the pitcher to second, and beats it out for a leadoff infield single

Hernandez just blasts one out to left, a two run shot that ties the score at 2-2

Peralta blasts one out to left center, back to back shots, the Tribe edges ahead, 3-2

Well, they sure had their opportunities during the ninth

FINAL: Indians win, 8-7

A rough first outing for May, that was not helped by two outfield gaffes by Cabrera ... the Yankees coming around again with timely hitting, but just not enough to pull this mixed bag of a game out
