I am always amazed with how reasonable my overall boss is -- I mean, I have never had a superior that I thought was wise, open, reasonable, practical, etc. ... I have had a few that were some of these things, but terribly lacking in other areas
I guess I should count my blessings that my overall work environment now is very collaborative, open, focused, and not really poisoned (as far as I can tell by petty stuff, egos, cliques, agendas, feuds, etc.). I think it is largely because of the oversight of our common boss ... I don't even think of him as a boss, but more like a leader.
Funny how I have always thought of my superiors like bosses, like in the 70s chopsocky gungfu flicks, like you either feared them or they were so massively incompetent -- I actually have a leader for a superior now, and it is really amazing how his leadership style has really made a big difference in this particular work environment, very thankful over the whole thing
