I finally saw it
..what you may ask
The last part of the Matrix -- and it took me a while because I could only watch 10 minute chunks of it before falling asleep -- no joke
At the end of it all, it made me wonder how the hell it all went sour after such a promising beginning to it -- the first movie was really daring and different -- the second was all show, no go -- and the third (better than the 2nd) was just kind of ho-hum
In the end, I came to this conclusion -- there was no payoff, really -- it was "man's" fault to begin with -- and the Neo brokered the peace, which machines of course being thoroughly pragmatic (right???) could accept -- thus it was a big damn BLIP in history -- reminds me kind of Iraq when I think about it
So at the end of the day I can say that I have seen the trilogy -- but expanding beyond movie one in hindsight just kind of confused matters with story arcs that never caught me -- and the same damn kung fu fight -- like 23 times

well lets recall when the Matrix first came out... i believe the year was 1997? At that time the W. Bros. had pushed the bar to the extreme when it came to effects. No other movie had that type of effect in them before... they were so good and unique that they became parodied! You know you got something when other movies want to use what you did and make fun of it.
The story line was also mind blowing as well. While I have seen many action/science fiction type plots none of them were as surreal yet unreal as the first Matrix.
Well flash forward to 2002/2003. What has changed since that first movie? Nothing really. Basically we waited 5 years for the same vision of a movie with nothing new to tell. It's almost as fun as reading the old superman comic books where he was pretty much invincible and could do no moral wrong. boring.
I think that the brothers had a vision back in 1995 or whenever they first thought of the matrix but never reinvented their ideas to push the envelope further to keep up with the jones'. Sure they created some cgi stunts that were pretty unreal, but in the end they parody themselves by how boring and loathesome some of the scenes become.
had parts 2 and 3 came out sooner i think perhaps we would have been more willing to accept them, but time and the hype surrounding the film couldnt possible live up to what we had imagined in our heads...
whatever that was.
