Faith-based Euphemisms
We have a unique notion that's a part of our law of the land -- the err umm Constitution -- it's called the separation of church and state
This is supposed to protect us, da citizens -- from things like state sponsored religion -- it also keeps the government out of the religion business
Well, in the land where gay marriage is a no-no as long as you call it marriage -- we bring you faith based initiatives -- where it is okay to give federal money to churches so long as you don't call them church run day care or Christian youth social activities
So much of life nowadays is complex -- words and meanings are complex -- but I think that we can approach things in a way that is common sense rather than think that "things are different" just because they are packaged differently
It's like saying Pepsi is no longer Pepsi if it does not come in a R,W&B can -- it is what it is -- so just calling things by generic terms because we don't want to offend the separation and/or establishment clause -- well, it points to a stupid way to not acknowledge that we need to adapt nowadays
I am not mislead to think that these church based activities are not run without saving souls for God in mind -- or lose a Christian perspective -- so get real, this age of PC and don't ask, don't tell can get quite silly in its efforts to dress the elephant in sheep's clothing and pin the button on that says I am a Sheep
