BOT 1: Mitre going for the Cubs -- Jeter grounds to second, one down -- Womack also grounds to second, two gone -- Sheffield grounds to short to end the inning
TOP 2: Burnitz launches one the opposite way over the leftfield wall for a leadoff solo shot -- Cubs lead 1-0
Ramirez down swinging, one gone -- Walker pops to right in shallow right center, two away -- Barrett pops to second in shallow center to retire the side
BOT 2: Full count to ARod, the payoff is inside, ball four, a leadoff walk -- Matsui grounds the first pitch to first into a 361 double play, two gone -- Posada draws a two out walk -- Giambi grounds a single into right, runners now first and second -- Bernie grounds to second to end the inning
TOP 3: Patterson pops foul alongside the first base bag, one down -- Dubois flies to deep right center, two away -- Perez grounds to second to end the inning
BOT 3: Cano grounds the first pitch into center for a leadoff single -- Jeter grounds to third, the force is made at second, and the throw to home is in the dirt and rolls away, one down, runner at first -- Womack lines a single up the middle and into center, runners now at the corners
Sheffield bounces a single through the left side, one run scores, the game is tied 1-1

TOP 4: Hollandsworth grounds to first, one down -- Lee grounds to the left of the mound, Mussina backhands, and does a JUMP THROW (HS!!!), but pulls Giambi off the bag, infield single ... what an effort by Muss -- Lee steals second on the 1-0 to Burnitz
Burnitz flies to center, two away -- runner at second, two down for Ramirez, full count, he draws a two out walk, runners now first and second -- Walker hits a flare to shallow right, Sheffield dives ... misses, a 2-out single, one run scores, Cubs back on top 2-1
Runners at the corners, Barrett lines to third to end the rally
BOT 4: Posada grounds to short, one down -- Giambi draws a walk -- Bernie singles in the shadow of short as the shortstop moved to cover second, runners now at the corners -- Cano lines a single to right, one run scores, the game is knotted up again 2-2
Jeter is plunked, the bases are now loaded -- Womack hits a sacfly to center, one run scores, two away, Yankees take their first lead 3-2
Sheffield draws a walk, the bases are reloaded up -- Remlinger warms for Cubs -- ARod singles under the shortstop's glove and into left center, two runs score, the score is now NY 5-2
Runners at the corners, two down for Matsui, he flies to left to end the rally
TOP 5: Patterson down swinging, one down -- Dubois also goes down swinging, two away -- Perez flies to center to retire the side
BOT 5: Posada grounds to second, one gone -- Giambi strikes out swinging, but the ball gets away from Barrett and to the backstop, so Giambi reaches first -- Bernie grounds to first, Lee boots it, gloves, tosses to first, and Bernie is called safe ... the ump blows the call, E3 ... Mitre is arguing with the first base ump, Dusty is out to confer
Runners first and second, for Cano -- Wellemeyer warms for the Cubs, Rothschild is out to confer -- Cano flies to first, two down -- Jeter grounds to third, the force is made at second to end the inning
TOP 6: Hollandsworth grounds to first, one down -- Lee flies to center, two away -- full count to Burnitz, the payoff is smashed at first, it's off Giambi's glove and rolls into foul territory alongside the base, a two out infield single -- Ramirez hits a bomb to deep center, but Bernie is there to make an over the shoulder basket catch to retire the side
BOT 6: Womack grounds to second, one down -- Ohman warms for Cubs -- Sheffield flies to left, two away -- ARod grounds to short, Perez bobbles, the throw to first is way off, E6
On the first pitch to Matsui, ARod goes ... and steals second -- Matsui lifts a two out single to right center, one run scores, the Yankees now 6-2
That will be all for Mitre, Dusty comes in to take the ball -- Ohman now pitching for Cubs -- Posada goes down looking to end the rally
TOP 7: Walker pops to short, one down -- Barrett lines single to left over the leaping Jeter -- Sturtze and Stanton warm for Yankees -- Patterson draws a walk, runners now first and second -- Torre is out to take the ball, another very solid start for Muss
Sturtze in for Yankees, he plunks Dubois with the first pitch to load the bases -- Perez grounds back to the pitcher into a rare 123 inning ending double play
Seventh Inning Stretch: Yankees lead, 6-2
BOT 7: Giambi down swinging, one down -- Bernie grounds the first pitch to third, two away -- Cano grounds to first to end the inning
TOP 8: Sturtze continues, Tino in at 1B -- Hollandsworth flies to left, one down -- Lee grounds a single to left past third -- Torre in, that will end Sturtze's outing
Gordon now pitching for NY -- Burnitz lines a single to right, runners now first and second -- Ramirez grounds to short, Jeter tries to get the force at third and launches one into foul territory past ARod, the bases are loaded
Stottlemyre out to confer -- Walker hits a grounder to first, Tino makes a great diving stop, and throws to second to get the runner there, one run scores, two away -- Runners at the corners, two down for Barrett, he goes down swinging to end the rally
BOT 8: Wuertz pitching for Cubs, Mo warms for Yankees -- Jeter draws a leadoff walk -- Womack lays a bunt down in front of the plate, Ramirez and Wuertz are crossed up, no one gets it, Womack on with a bunt single, runners now first and second
Sheffield goes down swinging, one away -- On the 0-1 to ARod, runners going, Barrett drops the ball ... a double steal -- Runners now second and third for ARod goes down swinging, two down -- Matsui draws the intentional pass to load the bases
Russ Johnson in to PR for Matsui -- Posada goes down swinging ... Wuertz strikes out the side to end the inning

The Yankees sweep again, and are off to a great start to this homestand
