Pondering television
So, last night, I got to watch the tail end of the reality series that supposedly will help in-excess (phonetically) find their lead singer
SD and I couldn't help but wonder about one practical matter of this all ... say you were in your 40s or so, would you pick a full band member who was barely in their 20s (ed note: have found out the average age is late 20s-early 30s ... hmm, still smells like a one off pubstunt)
It all seems like hype to me to boost their nosta-tour. I would guess they bring in this person to record voice tracks ... and possibly tour. Ehh, seems like here's another band that would do well to dig up GeoMichael's phone number
This is not to say that these finalists have no talent ... I have seen more talent by watching the last twenty minutes than you see on a WHOLE season of that other highly rated show that I really don't like at all
On a side note, the casting of DaveN and the extremely wooden BrookeB ... well, misstep would be a nice way to put it ... in many ways, I should have spent some time and watched that one hit wonder reunion show that was running until last week instead
On a related note, that's why I think I believe nowadays that most bands are done, if they are past the 20 year mark in their formation ... there really is nothing left to do than to disappoint expectations, play your core set of greatest hits, and endlessly tour until you're pulling a Tap at county fairs and little clubs
New album always seems to equal joke (and cashgrab)
